What Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube Premium Cost in Naira
A straight comparison of what the main streaming services cost per month in Nigeria, and which one gives you the most for your money.
Most people do not choose one streaming service. They collect them. One for the family, one for football, one because a friend recommended a show.
Here is what they each cost so you can see the total.
The prices
These are current as of 2026. Streaming services raise prices often, so treat the figures as a snapshot, not a promise.

What you are actually paying for
Netflix has the deepest library and the strongest originals. It is also the most expensive of the three at the top end, and the price has gone up several times in the last two years.
Showmax has closed. MultiChoice shut it down on 30 April 2026 after Warner Bros. Discovery ended its licensing deal, and its shows and live sport moved to DStv Stream. If you subscribed for Nigerian and African content or the football, that is where it lives now.
Prime Video tends to come attached to other things, which makes it feel cheap until you look at what you are actually watching on it.
YouTube Premium is not really a streaming service in the same sense. You are paying to remove ads and to play in the background. Whether that is worth it depends entirely on how much YouTube you watch, which for most people is more than they think.
The number that matters
Add up whatever you are currently subscribed to. Not the ones you meant to cancel. The ones actually charging you.
Two services is normal. Four means you are spending more on streaming than most people spend on data. That is a fine choice if you made it on purpose. Most people did not.
Before you cancel anything
Check which ones you actually opened in the last month. Not which ones you like the idea of. Which ones you opened.
That is usually a shorter list than the bill.
